Reina Angelina Barela

Reina Angelina Barela passed away January 9, 2024 in Pueblo, Colorado.  She was born Jan 11, 1936  in Belen, New Mexico where she was raised and attended St. Mary's Catholic School.  Following her marriage to Romulo M. Barela, she moved to El Rancho de los Barela's, a few miles north of Tajique New Mexico. She had lived in Pueblo since 2020.  Reina enjoyed crocheting, off roading and her trips to the casino. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and one of her daily routines involved talking on the telephone.   

Reina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Romulo M. Barela; her sons, Leandro and Juan; her daughter, Susan and her brother Joe.  Mrs. Barela is survived by her children, Mabel Barela, Therese Barela, Eusebio (Susan) Barela, Nancy Barela, Ruby (Filbert) Archuleta, Sandra (Edward) Marquez, Martina (Anthony) Gallegos and Romulo (Diane) Barela; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.  

Visitation for Mrs. Barela was held at the Davis Mortuary on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from Noon until 5 PM.   Cremation followed and she will be interred in the Belen Cemetery in Belen, New Mexico at a later date.
