Noreen Ellen Hollibaugh

Noreen Ellen Hollibaugh was born on July 16, 1933 in Missoula, Montana and passed away on December 13, 2023 in Pueblo, Colorado.  Noreen was preceded in death by her Husband George Hollibaugh Sr., her father, and her mother.  She is survived by her daughter, Susan McKenney of Odessa, Texas, her son, George Hollibaugh JR of Boone, Colorado, her daughter, Rosetta Montgomery of Richmond, Washington, and her daughter Sherry Guthrie of Pueblo West, Colorado as well as sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of adopted family who couldn’t help but love her.

Noreen was raised in the small rural town of Stevensville, Montana, where she met her husband George who she married on September 16, 1952. While George was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, Noreen was a devoted Marine Corps wife and was so proud of his service to this nation.  In addition to her unrelenting devotion to raising her four children during George’s multiple deployments, she enjoyed a distinguished career with the United States Department of Defense. Noreen was also a valued member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

 Noreen moved with her husband to Boone, Colorado in 1989.  Noreen integrated herself into her community and church.  Not one for sitting idle in retirement, she found local employment with Joann’s Fabric and at Grady’s Restaurant Supply. As busy as she kept herself, she still found time to take care of her aging mother and mother in law as well as help with keeping track of grandchildren who had a knack for finding mischief.  Nothing in her life was more important to her than her God and the family she considered a gift from him.   

A celebration of Noreen’s life was held at 4 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in the Avondale United Methodist Church, 233 E. Highway 50, Avondale, CO  81022.
