Melvin L. Kelso

Melvin Luther Kelso, age 91, passed away April 4, 2017.  Mel was born in Pueblo on January 27, 1926.  He attended Central High School and graduated from Abilene Christian University after serving in the Navy during WWII.  Mel served as a teacher with District 60 for many years. Mel was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Margaret Kelso and his brother, Jerry Kelso.  Also preceded by the wife of his youth and the mother of his children, Constance Graves Kelso.  Mel is survived by his wife, Irene Kelso; his children, Mike (Sue) Kelso, Ted (Terri) Kelso, Gordon (Sheila) Kelso, Tom (Liz) Kelso, Lue Jane (Sam) King, Pam (Ken) Barton, Becky (Hank) Hahne, Gary Golladay, and Jeff Golladay.  Mel was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.   Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Southwest Church of Christ, 1635 S. Pueblo Blvd.  Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pueblo.Memorial gifts may be made to Casa de la Esperanza Children’s Home in care of the Southwest Church of Christ.  Online condolences at Davis Mortuary.com.
