Mary Louise Buxman

Mary L. Buxman, 82, was a strong woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She died of kidney failure on October 21, 2020, in Pueblo, Colorado.  She was born May 27, 1938, in Fall River, Kansas, the daughter of Norval Swindler and Vertie Williamson.

Mary earned an RN degree and worked as a nurse for 39 years enjoying the field of medicine and touching many lives along her journey.

Predeceased by her devoted husband of 25 years, Robert Deniston, Mary married Bob on August 17, 1992 in Amarillo, Texas.  Together they were free spirits working as traveling nurses in Texas, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Colorado.

A devoted Christian, Mary had a close relationship with the Lord.  Her free spirit is at home in heaven.

Mary was known for her lead foot on the gas pedal, not holding back her opinion (Vote Trump) and her knack for telling it like it was.  She enjoyed her gambling habit in Cripple Creek often referring to herself as “Gambling Granny.”  Mary loved the ocean and a great piece of fudge, often baking many batches for her family at the holidays.

Mary lost her oldest son, Mark (Betty) Longview, Texas in April 27, 2019 and her dearest nephew, DeWayne Durham December 14, 2006.  She leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that Mary was very proud of!  She adored her sons, Gary (Mary), Pueblo, Colorado, Bryan (Sharon), Harleton, Texas, Darrin (Lori), Pueblo, Colorado.  Mary was blessed with 14 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren, her dearest niece Sherri (John) Wickham, Fredonia, Kansas and her step-daughter Skylia Millershaski, Cimarron, Kansas.

A private entombment ceremony for her ashes will be held at King of King’s Lutheran Church Columbarium in Pueblo.
