Larry "Law" Tyler

Larry Don “Law” Tyler passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pueblo, CO on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was 64 years old.  He was born on January 20, 1960, to Shirley Hill Tyler and Donald Ray Tyler in Lubbock, TX.

Larry grew up riding minibikes, motorcycles, hunting, participating in competitive shooting and skating at Playland Skate. Motorcycles were a love that he carried with him through life. His latest bike being a 2010 Kawasaki 900cc, a bike that he used to tour Colorado, parts of Texas, and New Mexico with his wife.

The first 14 years of Law’s life were spent moving frequently, around Texas, with his family (Dalhart, Dumas, Burnet, Canyon and Guyman, Oklahoma). The family finally settled in Cedar Park and Law graduated High School from Leander, TX in 1978. It was about this time that he went to work for HEB Grocery as a meatcutter. This was the start of a long career with HEB.

In the meantime, Law met D. Denice “Sam” Preece in 1993 and she became his wife on April 29, 1995. Sam was the love of his life, and they shared many years of enjoying life together in Austin before they retired to Pueblo with their family of cats and their dog. There, they started a new life of retirement which included the partial restoration of a Victorian home, star-gazing, bird-watching, gardening, canoeing in the summer, metal detecting, movie nights, and many more. They were scheduled to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary next month.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sam. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Tyler of Cedar Park, his sister, Kathy Tyler Floyd (Jim) of Gonzales, his two nephews Ross Land and Joshua Floyd along with his stepfather, Rodney Krawl.

Larry “Law” Tyler was a kind man with a wicked sense of humor and a huge heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place.  The family will hold private services at a later date.
