Kenneth Dewayne Highberger

Kenneth Dewayne Highberger passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2022 surrounded by his wife, sons and brothers.  Born June 19th, 1945 in Iola, Kansas Ken graduated from Kapaun High School in Wichita before joining the Jesuits, where he would go on to receive degrees in philosophy, broadcasting and theology.  Ken left the priesthood six-years after ordination to continue his career in broadcasting. Early jobs took him across America; from Denver, to Salt Lake City, to Charlotte, North Carolina. Working in news operations with NBC News Channel, his work became a passport to the world, taking him from Havana, Cuba to Rome, Italy and Sydney, Australia, to name a few. An NBC newsman to the core, Ken Highberger loved baseball, working in the yard, but most of all his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his wife Barbara Dodge Highberger, son’s Jack and Nick, and brother’s Don, Gary and Steve.

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am on Friday, August 12th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 8006 CO Highway 165 Rye, Colorado.
