Keith Herman Kohrs was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on August 6, 1933. He died at home in Pueblo, Colorado on April 1, 2023. He was the son of Herman and Alice Kohrs. He grew up in Johnson, Nebraska on the family farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorraine (Schuette) Kohrs; daughter Kristine (Dave) O’Brien; grandchildren Jennifer (Tommy) Heikkinen and Sarah O’Brien; great grandchild Elaine Heikkinen; daughter Kathy (Eric) Leedom; grandchildren Lauren (Victor) Miranda, Ryan Leedom, and Christen Leedom; great grandchildren: Sofia and Daniel Miranda. He is also survived by his brother Sterling (Naomi) Kohrs and sister-in-law Linda Kohrs. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty Kohrs, and his brother David Kohrs.

Keith served in the US Naval Reserve from 1954 to 1956.  He graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska and became a traveling salesman in Montana and Wyoming.

Keith and Lorraine met at United States Checkbook Company in Omaha, Nebraska where they were colleagues. They married at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church on April 29, 1961.

Keith and Lorraine owned and operated three businesses: Greeley Tent and Awning, Pueblo Tent and Awning, and Dincler’s Stage Equipment.

Keith was a lifetime member of the Optimist Club; he served on the Colorado State Fair Junior Livestock Sale Committee, the boards of Pueblo County 4H Foundation, Hudson Ranch Foundation, International Order of Rocky Mountain Goats (Old Goats!), and Front Range Antique Power Association, and he was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Los Pobres (non-profit for migrant worker), the Pueblo County 4-H Foundation, CASA or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Keith's Life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:30 AM at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Lane, Pueblo, Colorado  81005. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.  In honor of Keith, attendees are encouraged to dress casually and in bright colors.
