Ina Marie Earnest

Ina Marie Gregory Earnest, known as Marie, made her grand appearance into the world on June 2, 1936 in Esbon, Kansas and gained her angel wings on June 28, 2022 in Pueblo, Colorado.  She was born to Victor Gregory and Alice Henry. She had two sisters and one brother; Genevieve, Ethel and Victor Jr. Their family lived on the family farm until several years later when the family moved to Smith Center, Kansas. There, they owned and operated a restaurant and an ice cream parlor. Marie took her studies very seriously, at Smith Center High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1954.

After moving to Colorado in 1956, Marie concentrated on raising her children. She married Paul Pimlott and had three daughters; Linda and LeAnn, Judy and one son, Paul Douglas (Doug). LeAnn and Judy survive their mother.

In 1965 Marie and her husband bought several service stations. Marie kept the books for the businesses. In about 1975 Marie decided a career change was necessary. She went back to school and then opened up her own bartending school in Pueblo. Five years later she went to work at Pueblo Community College teaching Mixology and Lounge management to compliment the culinary arts program. From there, she lived a life of fishing in colorful Colorado, road tripped all over the Southwest, camped on Cottonwood campgrounds, sailed the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean on beautiful cruise ships, enjoyed bingo with good friends, joined the Red Hats Society, and the Bell Choir at church. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and was very proud to be a grandma; with fridge magnets to show. Marie was grateful to spend her last few years at home, with her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandson as neighbors; enjoying fresh coffee, morning greetings, and crossword puzzles.

Cremation has taken place.   A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10 am in the Davis Memorial Chapel.
