Harold "Dutch" Fink

Harold W. “Dutch” Fink, longtime resident of Rye, passed away, Aug 1, 2023.  Harold was born June 25, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He moved to Weston, Colorado as a young boy.  Harold worked as a cowpuncher from 1945 to 1951 for Homer Ferguson in Weston before enlisting in the US Army in 1951.  He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War.  Following the war, Harold returned home to the cowboy life working for the Mecum Ranch as a cowpuncher and hunting guide.   He then went to work for the 3R Ranch in Beulah, Colorado.  Dutch also worked for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator for Jim Cullen, John Cullen and Jim Kirkland Construction.   Dutch loved children, dogs, hunting, fishing and being in the mountains.   He also enjoyed gardening with his wife Betty. 

Mr. Fink was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Leona Fink; wife, Betty; son, William and daughter, Cathy Coy; siblings, Charlene Blobett, Jim, Bob and Phillip Fink.   He is survived by his sons, Charles (Emily) Fink and Duane (Betsy) Fink; grandchildren,  Mariah, Elizabeth (Xavier Muñoz), Autumn, Justin and Riley Fink, Heather Coy and Sean Ogden; great grandchildren, Alexavier, Annabeth, Amber (Alarik) and Shea; great great grandson Austin; sister, Dorothy Farrington and several nieces, nephews and cousins including Phil (Linda) Fink, Craig (Salena) Hurn and Sarita Blakeley, as well as son-in-law, Les Coy and several other relatives.

Visitation will be from 9 am until 10:30 am on Thursday, Aug 10, 2023 in Rye Home United Methodist Church, 2063 Main St, Rye, CO. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Rye with military honors provided by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
