Gary James Mattson

Gary James Mattson, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Oct 1, 2017. In 1997, he graduated Gold Cord from Pueblo East High School where he lettered in Cross Country, Academics and music. He proudly volunteered at Parkview Hospital and Pueblo County Commodities. At age 14, he became one of the youngest musicians to play in the Pueblo Symphony and will always be remembered for playing his cello and other instruments. He is survived by his mother Bernadette “Bernie” Mattson; father, Gary G. (Vel) Mattson; sister, Dr. Brandi J. (Mark DePaul) Mattson; niece, Vittoria DePaul; grandmother, Mary Gonzales; uncle, Felix (Juanita) Gonzales; uncle, and aunt, Dr. Bill and Marie Thomas; special aunt, Melita Lobato; as well as several cousins and numerous relatives and friends.
