Doris “Dori” Arlene Lease died April 15, 2022 in Pueblo. Dori was the 5th of 7 children born to Asa and Aetna Filer. She was born June 11, 1922 on the family ranch near Milliken, CO. Moving with the family to Pueblo in 1928, she was educated in Pueblo, graduating from Central High School in 1940. She began her career with the CF&I working in the Colorado Supply, then onto the Main Office. She retired in 1978. Dori was a life long “Southsider,” preferring to live, work, and shop on the South Side.

Dori married Clifton “Clif” Lease, July 10, 1943 and celebrated 59 years of marriage. After retiring she and Clif traveled to visit their family and friends scattered from coast to coast, enjoyed several cruises, and visiting their son in Alaska and Montana. As an active member in the Ladies Masonic organizations, Dori held many elected and appointed positions at both the local and state level. She resigned from her last position at age 90. Dori was recognized as a 50 year member in both Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She was also a dedicated and active member of the St. Peter the Apostle Episcopal Church.

Dori was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers; Edwin “Ted”, Asa “Don”, Ralph, Robert “Bob”, James “Jim”, and Glenn Filer. She is survived by her son James “Jim”, of Billings, MT; grandson, Jeffrey “Jeff” (Tammy); great granddaughter, Allison, of Spokane, WA and grandson James “Pete”, of Bozeman, MT; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends including Cathy Lease, of La Junta, CO.

Dori requested no services be held, a private interment will occur at a later date. Those wishing to remember Dori with a memorial, please do so at: St. Peter the Apostle Episcopal Church, Parkview Medical Center, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or to the charity of your choice.
