In sadness, but with love, we share the passing of our dear mother, Betty McGhee Bucciarelli, August 13, 2022.
Betty was born on November 30, 1930, the second of five children to Earl and Freda Hollon, in Omaha, Nebraska. Her family moved to Pueblo in 1945 where Betty enrolled at Central High School, graduated in 1948 and remained in contact with school mates throughout her life. After graduation Betty married Ed McGhee (who preceded her in death, 1979) and together they raised three daughters. Betty began a career in banking in 1965 that spanned many years and culminated with her retirement from Decibel Credit Union. She married Carmen Bucciarelli (who proceeded her death in 2016) in 1987. They both enjoyed retirement together and traveled the world. Betty was proud to be one of the founding members of King of Kings Lutheran Church, and a devoted, active church member.
Betty lived a full and adventurous life making the most of her days on Earth, having a positive impact on many lives and setting an incredible example for others to follow. Throughout her life, Betty remained a solid, steady presence in her family and circle of friends. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. The endless memories Betty created as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives.
Betty is survived by her daughters; Tina Wickizer (Terry), Suzanne Dutchyshyn (John), and Kathleen Perme (Ed). Her beloved grandchildren; Shawn Wickizer (Laura), Rhiannon Astein, (Philip), Andrew Jordan (Sarah), Celine Martin (Craig), Celeste Tayar (Jason), Cyrus Perme (Alicia), and her 12-precious great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her husband’s family: Carmen (Irene) Bucciarelli, Charles (Cheri) Bucciarelli, Shawn Bucciarelli (Nicole), Reese and Delany Bucciarelli.
We are thankful for the LOVING CARE she received from Visiting Angels who went beyond the call of duty in caring for her. Thank you to her friends and family who truly showed their love by taking time to stop and visit with her. She appreciated every one of you.
Services will be held September 10, 2022, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 10 AM. Luncheon to follow at the church.
Betty requested in lieu of flowers; donations be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church or The Pueblo Humane Society, c/o Tina Wickizer, 620 Polk, Pueblo, CO 81004.
