Anna Marie Jones

Anna Marie “Ann” Jones was born on February 4, 1938 in Chester Pennsylvania and passed on October 10, 2021 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was the second oldest of six children. She grew up in Brookhaven Pennsylvania, married at 17 and started her family in a house across the street from her parents.

Ann was a wonderful mother to her five children. She attended church services with her kids regularly and wore a cross that her father had made for her. She also babysat three nieces and a nephew. She cooked and taught the recipes to her children. Ann sewed clothes and encouraged all of her children to study hard, practice their instruments and be independent.

In 1972, the family moved to Boone Colorado. When her children started going to college, Ann started her work career first at Banquet Schusters’ Bakery, followed by Martin Music and later Larry’s Electric as a bookkeeper. She retired at 70 years old. In her free time she liked to go to water aerobics, walk and folk dance.

Ann moved to the Pueblo Villa Towers senior apartments in July 2017. She was happy to have her independence. She loved to read mysteries, watch games shows and physical competitions like MMA, American Ninja Warrior and football. She also spent her time embroidering and doing crochet. Throughout her life she enjoyed card games like Michigan Rummy and playing dice games like Yahtzee. At the Villa she took part in Bingo, Farkle, and Shanghai Rummy. Ann made good friends there she said felt like family.

Anna is preceded in death by her ex-husband Paul Frederick Jones, her parents Anna Marie and Thomas Kozur, brother Thomas Kozur, sister Kathleen Diviney, and brother Joseph Kozur.

Anna is survived by her children Pauline (Jerry) Dowdy, Theresa Jones, Rose Marie Jones, Steven Jones, and Joseph (Margaret) Jones. Also her grandchildren Michael (Kate) Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, Jessica Jones and Matthew Jones. Ann is also survived by her sisters Mary Kozur and Madeline Hutchinson, sister-in-law Janice Kozur as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
