M. Ray Dalton

M. Ray Dalton passed away Dec 22, 2009 in Pueblo. Ray was born Oct 4, 1928 in Sherman, Texas and had lived in Pueblo most of his life. Ray was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Silver State Lodge #95 AF&AM, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #90 and a Tennessee Squire. After retiring from the Pueblo Army Depot he drove a school bus for School District 70 and a truck for Valco, Inc. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a Colorado Master Angler and particularly enjoyed fishing at the High Lakes before the trails were closed to motor vehicles. He also enjoyed riding tote gotes & motorcycles, playing poker, dominoes, and chess, as well as spending time in Westcliffe at the cabin with family and friends. He was a great storyteller, always willing to share his experiences when there was someone to listen. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jeff and Joe; granddaughter, Dawn; brothers, Doug and Jim and his sister Betty. His survivors include his wife of 59 years Betty; his children, John (Patty), Jim (Anne); grandchildren Scott (Steph), Kristy, Dylan (Holly), Jordan and Jarrod (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, Dominic, Weston, Devin and Jackson. The Dalton family expresses special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care and support. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Dec 26, 2009 at Broadway Christian Church, Broadway & Evans. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery with Masonic Burial Rites by Silver State Lodge #95 AF&AM and Military Honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
