Augustine Martinez

Augustine Martinez passed away July 5, 2009 in Pueblo. He was born Oct 9, 1932 in Mills, NM. Augustine was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a Staff Sergeant after a 25 year military career. He loved to fish, ride horses and was an excellent cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Martinez and Rita Armijo; step-father Fil Armijo, 3 brothers and 1 sister. His survivors include his children Derek Martinez, Alice Marrufo, Patty Vigil and Michael Vigil; his grandchildren, Lisa, Arturo and Gabbie; great granddaughter, Angelina; brothers, Lorenzo Martinez, Jose Fred (Flo) Martinez, Joe (Margie) Armijo; sisters, Juanita (Daniel) Pacheco, Mary (Ben) Chavez, Angie (Julio) Chavez, Gloria Martinez and Julia (Jerry) Espinoza; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place. Private services and inurnment in the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron, New Mexico will be held at a later date.
