PAUL ERNEST WEST passed away Mar 9, 2009 in Pueblo. Paul was born Feb 19, 1921 in Washington, PA to Georgia and Hal West. Following his graduation from Waynesburg High School in PA, Paul served in the US Army during WWII. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. After returning from the war, Mr. West received a BA degree from Penn Commercial College in 1947. He returned to England where he met his future wife Emma “Amy” Coombs of Leeds, England. They married on June 5, 1948 in Waynesburg, PA. In 1954 they moved to Boulder, CO where he worked as Chief Accountant for Granville-Philips Company until his retirement. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Amy in 1975. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and traveling. He traveled through the US, Canada, and England. He traveled for many years until he met Myrtle Loch of Minneapolis, MN. She became his good friend and traveling companion for 17 years. Paul served as a deacon in his church, was a Boy Scout Leader and a Reserve Police Officer in Boulder. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the National WWII Memorial and the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his sister, LeeAnna Udodow and brother Le Roy Caine Jr. His survivors include his daughter Dorian (Duane) Boda, of Pueblo West, son, David (Barbara) West, of Boulder; grandchildren, Chad (Lily) Boda, and Teagan Boda, great granddaughter, Heather Boda, all of Pueblo West; his brothers, Ronald West of FL and Harold West of OH, half sisters, Patricia Pettit, of NY, Betty Ingrahm of PA and Shirley West, of TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in the Pursley Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, PA.
