Mary Alice McDonald passed away Feb 13, 2009 in Pueblo. Mary was born May 5, 1916 near Johnson, Nebraska to John and Margaret Polsfus. She was employed as a teacher in the Pueblo Public Schools before her retirement. She was an active member of the Tabor Lutheran Church where belonged to many ladies groups, was the past president and longtime a board member of P.E.A. She was a world traveler, enjoyed gambling, playing cards and bingo, enjoyed arranging and attending family reunions and was crowned the CO State Fair Queen of the Kitchen in 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1969. Her survivors include her daughters Mary K. (Duane Good) Davis, and Ruth A. McDonald, grandchildren Bonde Davis and Rusty (Corinne) Davis, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, her brother Robert (Saundra) Polsfus, sister Margaret Jean Miller, 3 nephews and their families. She is also survived by special family members the Ottersberg family and Deanna Christy as well as her special friend Sonja Melton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb 17, 2009 in the Tabor Lutheran Church with Pastor Cynthia Josephson officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in memory of Mary be made to the American Cancer Society through the mortuary.
