Nancie Evelyn Brunnemann Soucie, died March 17, 2013 in her home in Pueblo West, CO after a short battle with cancer. Nancie was born July 21, 1947 in Brownsville, TX to Mary Jane Taylor Hayden and the late Frank Cadwell Brunnemann. She lived in Great Bend, KS before moving back to Wichita Falls, TX where she went to the Academy of Mary Immaculate Catholic School (now Notre Dame) for most of grade school. The family then moved to Iowa Park, TX where she finished her schooling. She was a proud member of the W. F. George High School (now Iowa Park High School) class of 1965. She made lifelong friends who have helped lift her spirits by sending her numerous cards during the course of her illness. She graduated from cosmetology school and over the years lived in Dallas and Houston, TX; then San Jose, CA; before moving to Evergreen, CO where she lived for about 25 years. There she owned Escada Salon where she had a large cliental and made many friends. She was very involved in the Elks Lodge #2363 in Evergreen where she was the first female Exalted Ruler (ER). She volunteered many hours of service there cooking and serving the members of the Elks and the community. She moved to Pueblo West, CO in 2005 where she was active in the Past Exalted Ruler (PER) Association in the Elks Lodge #90. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Roger E. Soucie, of Pueblo West, CO; her mother, Mary Hayden, of Wichita Falls, TX; her son, Jeff Castledine and his wife, Teri, of Greenwood Village, CO; a sister, Gisele Herron and her husband Harold, of Wichita Falls, TX; granddaughter, Kendall Castledine and a niece, Taylor Herron. The family would like to thank the kindness shown Nancie by Dr. Alonso Pacheco and the nurses at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and also the wonderful care given to her by the staff of Sangre De Cristo Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Davis Memorial Chapel in Pueblo, Colorado with Rev. Curtis L. Hubbell officiating.
