Wayne R. Ward

Chaplain (Col) Wayne R. Ward, USAR, passed away Sept 16, 2012 in Pueblo. Chaplain Ward served as a medic and chaplain in the United States Army from 1956-1989. He pastored Christian Churches in Iowa, Texas and Colorado, retiring in Pueblo in 1994 after serving at Broadway Christian and Boulevard Christian Churches. His survivors include his wife Jane; children, Melinda (Warren) Knight, Teresa (Ted) Turner and Alan (Holly) Ward; his grandchildren, Kendra Knight, Andria Merrill, Seth Turner, Zadra Ward and Leah Ward as well as his sister Vera Piersee and brother Darrell (Dolores) Ward. Wayne donated his body to the Colorado Anatomical Board. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, Sept 20, 2012 in the Grace Christian Church, 630 Broadway Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Grace Christian Church.
