Arline A. Ladd, a lifelong resident of Pueblo, passed through the gates of Heaven on February 21, 2012 at the age of 94. Arline was born on December 17, 1917 to William and Edythe Pugh. In 1940 she married Wilbur N. Ladd who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Amy Fairbanks. Her survivors include her daughter Lynnda Fairbanks of England, son, Wilbur “Skip”, of Pueblo; grandchildren Talbot Fairbanks, of WA, Joshua Ladd, of TN, Tiffany (Dan) Steiner; great granddaughter Skylar, of Aurora, as well as many nices, cousins and their extended families by former daughter-in-law Marilyn Antenucci and son-in-law Joe Fairbanks, of WA. Arline attended Central High School and business school after which she became a legal secretary to several Pueblo firms before her marriage to Wilbur. She was very active in numerous benevolent organizations including Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Rotary Ann where she served as president and volunteer coordinator, driving handicapped children to therapy for 25 years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church until it closed in 2007 and merged with Wesley United Methodist Church. She belonged to several bridge clubs and counted their members as best friends. Arline also loved her many dogs and her cat over the years. She loved looking at the sun and blue skies of Colorado, saying how “blue blue” the sky was, even in her last weeks of life. Arline spent the past several years living at the Chateau at Sharmar Village where she has been so well cared for. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers of Sharmar Chateau, especially those who cared for Arline in the Memory Care Unit and to the caring staff at Frontier Hospice. Visitation for Mrs. Ladd will be held on Monday from 3 PM until 5 PM at the Davis Mortuary. Entombment will be held on Tuesday, Feb 28 at 1:00 PM at the Roselawn Cemetery followed by a 2:00 PM memorial service at Wesley United Methodist Church, 85 Stanford, with Pastor Christine Richardson officiating.
