Betty M. Carnes

Betty M. (Woodard) Carnes passed away February 13, 2011 at her home in Pueblo. Betty was born March 31, 1923, the third of four children to Merritt and Helen Woodard. She moved to Pueblo in 1965 and was a former member of the Rosemount Museum Board, a member of PEO and the recipient of many ribbons a thte Coloado State Fair. She loved riding her bicycle and to travel in general. She was a retired librarian at the Pueblo Chieftain and wrote the antiques column for many years for the newspaper. Her first husband Lt. L.C. McCauley, died in WWII. Subsequently, she married Jack N. Carnes, who also preceded her in death. Betty is survived by three children, Michael McCauley, of Colorado Springs, Cheryl (Mitchell, of Spokane, WA and Margaret Carnes, of Pueblo. Cremation int he Davis Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in the First United Methodist Church, 210 W. 11th Street in Pueblo.
