Ira Russell Crabtree passed away Dec 19, 2010 in Pueblo. Ira was born Apr 16, 1913 in Semmes, Mobile County, Alabama to Littleton and Nettie Ellen Crabtree. He married Evangeline Scaggs, of Morehead, KY in 1938 and she preceded in death in 1987. On Feb 14, 1991 he married Margaret Crabtree in Pueblo. Ira wore a number of employment hats. A “footer” for hosiery mill before WWII and was employed as a first aid man and x-ray technician for Tennessee Iron and Coal. He graduated Cum Laude from Missouri Chiropractic College, St Louis, MO in 1952 and passed the Colorado State Board in 1958 after moving to Pueblo while employed as a pharmaceutical representative for Sterling Drug. After retiring he was in business with Ed Willets and also did work for Daurios Auto and Truck. Ira was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. Ira is survived by his wife, two daughters, Therissa (John) Young, E. Sue (Charles) Davis; step-sons, James K. Sackett, Donald and Troy Cunningham; step-daughters, Kimberly Gallegos, Kathy (Bill) Wiley, four grandchildren, three great grandsons, a sister Mary R. Dupree, of Rossville, GA and many nieces and nephews. Without the loving and faithful care of his wife Margaret, Ira would not have lived such a long life. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3910 O’Neal in Pueblo.
